Yoga Teacher Certificate

I can’t quite believe it yet, but it’s done. I’ve completed my 200-hour Myofascial Yoga Teacher Training.

This year-long journey was deeply nourishing, and I’m both proud and grateful - especially to Christine Wushke, who taught this training with such care and integrity.

I’ve been practising yoga for over 30 years, on and off, but this approach was unlike anything I’d experienced before. The focus wasn’t on pushing or achieving poses, but on developing a deep and kind relationship with the body.

We asked questions like:

What would be the most supportive and nourishing way to be with my body right now? Am I being kind to myself? Am I listening to my body?

We didn’t use the body to get into the poses. We used the poses to get into the body.

The practice invited steadiness and strength, yes - but also gentleness, curiosity, creativity, and joy. There was no rush. No right or wrong. No pressure or comparisons. Just a deeply relational, safe, and human way of being in the body.

We asked: What is the happiest way for me to arrive on my mat right now? What is my way to do this pose? What is my body telling me right now?

It feels like a beautiful way to close one year and step into the next. There definitely will be more Yoga Teacher Trainings ahead, but in 2026 I’m focusing more deeply on the meditation aspect of yoga through the Raja Yoga path, alongside an immersion in the Sri Vidya tantric tradition.

While I’m not teaching yoga to my counselling clients, this training deeply informs how I work. Mindfulness, gentleness, breath practices (pranayama), and kind ways of being with the body are already woven into my sessions, not as yoga, but as self-love in action. This approach supports nervous system regulation, emotional safety, and a more compassionate relationship with the body, which is often where so much healing begins. I love it.

My next step is to figure out how - and what - I want to teach. For now, I’m simply letting myself celebrate.
