The Joy of Laughter Yoga
I recently attended a laughter yoga training with the founder of Laughter Yoga Dr. Madan Kataria, and I have to say, it was a delightful surprise. It’s amazing how something as simple as laughter can shift your entire mood. The benefits go beyond just feeling good in the moment.
Laughter lowers stress, boosts your energy and immune system and creates a sense of connection.
What struck me most was how freeing and joyful it felt. It's all about finding your inner joy, and inner playfulness.
In Laughter Yoga, we laugh for no reason. It's unconditional. We don't need to wait until something funny happens. We choose to find it inside. You learn to fall in love with your laughter, as an expression of your joy and happiness.

And here's one of hundreds (maybe thousadns?) follow-along YouTube Laughter Yoga practices. I dare you not to laugh.
Here is the official International Laughter Yoga site:

There's a FREE laughter club, where people from all over the world get together to laugh - for no reason at all.
I've been only practicing for 10 days, but I'm noticing how much easier it's becoming. I truly think this can become a life changing practice. To connect with your joy every day, to chose positive emotions on demand - endorphins kick in immediately when you start laughing, even if it first you have to nudge the laughter - within the first few seconds it becomes authentic. I'm a big fan :) Try it.
As a Couples Counsellor I of course immediately think how can I share it with clients. Imagine how wonderful it would be to just laugh together. Rick and I tried a few times and it's so much fun. Part of me worries that it would be weird to introduce it. But I'm going to anyway. I'll let you know what I discover.
I encourage you to give it a try and see the difference.
