Women's Circle Songs
This week I facilitated my first post pandemic women's circle. It's been almost 4 years. I missed it so much. The space of safety, nourishment, connections, freedom, warmth, resonance and love. My heart is so full. So much love and so much gratitude.
You can read more about it here, but today I wanted to share 3 songs from my playlist. Listen to the words, feel the energy of the music and lyrics, and imagine the power and magic of a community of women where you belong.
The opening song: "Sacred Circle" by Heather PiersonÂ
"IÂ am entering into a sacred circle
Entering into a sacred space
I will open my heart and quiet my mind
For the blessings about to unfold
For the blessings about to unfold"
The song we played to accompany one of the practices: "Rose" by Ayla Schafer
"Softening, softening, softening all the hardness
Melting, melting, melting all that's frozen
Letting go, letting go of the sorrow
Dissolving into love all the shadow
We are woman, we are bringers of life
We are vessels of love, we are expressions of the divine
We are woman, we are bringers of life
We are vessels of love, we are expressions of the divine
Sisters hold my hand
You are stronger than you know
We are opening to love
We are learning how to grow
We hear the call
We are returning, we remember
We are like the rose
We are stronger than we know
We are like the rose
We are stronger than we know
Ancient mother, moving through us
Roots growing deep in our ancestry
Medicine woman, daughter, mother and lover
Reclaiming the power of our sacred memory
We are woman, we are bringers of life
We are vessels of love, we are expressions of the divine
We are woman, we are bringers of life
We are vessels of love, we are expressions of the divine
Sisters hold my hands
You are stronger than you know
We are opening to love
We are learning how to grow
We hear the call
We are returning, we remember
We are like the rose
We are stronger than we know
We are like the rose
We are stronger than we know
Sisters holding hands, in this circle we are held
Sisters holding hands, in this circle we are strong
Sisters holding hands, in this circle we remember
Sisters holding hands, in this circle we belong
Sisters holding hands, in this circle we are held
Sisters holding hands, in this circle we are strong
Sisters holding hands, in this circle we remember
Sisters holding hands, in this circle we belong
We are like the rose
We are stronger than we know
We are like the rose
We are stronger than we know
We are like the rose
We are stronger than we know
We are like the rose
We are stronger than we know"
Our closing song: "Pool of Love" by Alexa Sunshine Rose
"May the pool of love we have gathered here
Spread it's wings and fly
Far and near
From the depths of our hearts to the farthest star
May our love, bless everyone
May our love, bless everyone"
Our next Women's Circle in person in Calgary is on Feb 15 2024 and every third Thursday of each month thereafter. All women are welcome, no experience is required. Come and check it out, there's no pressure to do any of the practices.
As a women's therapist in Calgary it's my honor and joy to be able to offer the Circles. While not a replacement for therapy, it's a beautiful way to practice tools for self-regulation and co-regulation, creating safety and trust (nervous system regulation and healing), work on creating secure attachment and nourishing relationships (re-parenting yourself, and healing your attachment wounds), work on autonomy and belonging (Can i be fully myself and also a member of this group?), practice mindfulness, practice boundaries and speaking your truth. Nourishing your heart, soul and body. Finding balance of giving and receiving. Undoing aloneness. And being held in a field of love.
I invite you to join us. In fact, I highly recommend it.
If you are not ready or unable to join the group but would like individual support to learn some of the practices mentioned above, you are welcome to explore Individual Counselling for Women with Rovena in Calgary or Online. You can book your free consultation to talk about it here.
